THE YAMANAKA CLAN

GENERAL INFORMATION

Clan Description: The Yamanaka Clan, primarily located in the Fire Country, specializes in mind-related techniques. Although they possess special techniques, they don't have any special "abilities" like some of the other clans.

Clan Traits: Most members of the Yamanaka Clan wear their hair in a long ponytail, but there are exceptions. Other than that, there aren't any special physical characteristics that they share.

Clan History: The Yamanaka Clan has been part of the Fire Country for the past 300 years, making them one of the major clans of the country. This clan doesn't hold any special political privileges, but its members have historically been largely involved in intelligence, espionage, and interrogation due to their abilities.

Clan Structure: The Yamanaka Clan has a head, but otherwise doesn't have an intricate hierarchy. Immediate family members of the Clan head are usually treated with more respect than the average member, but they don't have any special privileges.

CLAN ABILITY: MIND TECHNIQUES

The Yamanaka Clan's abilities are all related to the mind. In addition, the clan members have minor sensory capabilities.

MIND TECHNIQUES: The Mind Techniques of the Yamanaka Clan are Hiden ("secret techniques") that are passed down within the clan. The details of the techniques and how to execute them are well-regarded secrets, and thus while they don't require Yamanaka lineage to use, they are only taught to Clan members.

SENSORY: Through the application of a sensing technique, the Yamanaka Clan members are able to sense the presence of chakra signatures around them. Though the radius of sensing is small and they are unable to make out many details, they are also able to transmit what they are sensing to another through touch.

SECRET CLAN TECHNIQUES

The Yamanaka Clan techniques are few in number, but they are incredibly useful. All of them center around the mind - either taking control of an opponent's mind, communicating telepathically, or even taking control of clones.

Description: After forming the appropriate hand seal, the user aims at their target and transmits their consciousness into the target's body. It travels rather slowly () and in a straight line. Although this technique can be performed at great distances, the farther the target, the more likely the user will miss. If the user misses, it will take several minutes for their consciousness to find its way back into their body. While this technique is in use, the user's body is left unconscious, and any damage the user takes while in control of the target will be transferred back to their own body.

If the technique is successful and the user is able to take control of their target, they have full control of the target's body and can use it as an extension of themselves to access locations, documents, or perform tasks they otherwise would not be able to do. While in another's body, the user is capable of performing their own techniques, notably they are able to perform the sensing technique, but expending too much chakra weakens their control. Keep in mind the user expends their own chakra, not that of their target.

There is no time limit on this control short of the user running out of chakra. The target is fully aware that they're being controlled, and thus a target with high mental resistance may be able to break this control early.
